India's national highway construction pace slows to 19.44 kms a day in April-September

"The ministry has constructed 3,559 KMs of National Highways up to September in 2022-23 as compared to 3,824 KMs constructed up to September in 2021-22," the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in its monthly summary for the Cabinet for September 2022.

India has awarded 4,092 kms of highway projects during April-September this year.

RBI asks banks to stop building positions in offshore market

Govt accords infrastructure status to data centres with over 5 MW capacity

Data centres that are "housed in a dedicated/centralized building for storage and processing of digital data applications with a minimum capacity of 5 MW of IT load" will be considered eligible for infrastructure status.

The capacity of data centres is measured in terms of power they consume which reflects on the scale of the server they are hosting in their facilities.

Living Planet Report 2022: Wildlife populations decline by 69% in 50 years

There has been a 69 per cent decline in the wildlife populations of mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish, across the globe in the last 50 years, according to the latest Living Planet Report by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The highest decline (94 per cent) was in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, the report showed.
