RBI's Half Yearly Report on Management of Foreign Exchange Reserves: October 2022 - March 2023

RBI publishes half-yearly reports on management of foreign exchange reserves as part of its efforts towards enhanced transparency and levels of disclosure. These reports are prepared half yearly with reference to the position as at end-March and end-September each year.

The net forward asset (receivable) of the RBI stood at USD 23.60 billion as at the end of March 2023.

This action is based on the deficiencies in regulatory compliance and is not intended to pronounce upon the validity of any transaction or agreement entered into by the bank with its customers, the Reserve Bank of India said in a statement.

2023 Pulitzer Prizes: Winners Include Hernan Diaz, New York Times And AP

This year’s Pulitzer winners include Associated Press, the New York Times and authors Barbara Kingsolver and Hernan Diaz.

The Associated Press won two Pulitzer prizes for journalism, in public service and breaking news photography, for coverage of the Ukraine war that included images of Russia’s siege of Mariupol.

JSW Energy signs 25-year PPA for 300 MW wind projects with SECI at ₹2.94/kWh tariff

JSW Energy has signed a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) for wind projects totaling 300 MW.

The PPA is signed for the supply of power for a period of 25 years with a tariff of ₹2.94 per kilowatt (KWh).

The projects are located in Maharashtra and are expected to be commissioned in the next 24 months.

Air force receives first batch of indigenous VTOL loitering munition

Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) delivered the first indigenously designed and developed loitering munitions to the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The ALS 50, also known as the "suicide drone," is a unique Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) weapon that can operate in any terrain, including high-altitude areas, to take down targets at a range of over 50 km.

First Airbus C295 for India successfully completes its maiden flight

The first C295 for India successfully completed its maiden flight, marking a significant milestone towards its delivery by the second half of 2023. The tactical aircraft took off from Seville, Spain, on the 5th May.

India acquired 56 C295 aircraft in September 2021 to replace the (IAF) legacy AVRO fleet. The first 16 aircraft will be assembled in Seville, Spain.
