India’s electronics sector has experienced rapid growth, reaching USD 155 billion in FY23. Production nearly doubled from USD 48 billion in FY17 to USD 101 billion in FY23, driven primarily by mobile phones, which now constitute 43% of total electronics production. India has significantly reduced its reliance on smartphone imports, now manufacturing 99% domestically.

As regards domestic value addition, the sector has also contributed ranging between 15% to 18%, and has generated approximately 1.3 million jobs. With a conducive business environment and robust policy support, including fiscal incentives and non-fiscal interventions, India should aim to achieve USD 500 billion in electronics manufacturing by value terms by FY 30.

This ambitious target comprises USD 350 billion from finished goods manufacturing and USD 150 billion from components manufacturing. Such growth is projected to create employment for an estimated 5.5 million to 6 million people. Electronics exports are expected to reach USD 240 billion and domestic value addition to increase to more than 35%.

The Haryana Cabinet gave nod to launch the IT Saksham Yuva Scheme, 2024, the target of which is to give jobs to 5,000 youths in the first phase. Under this scheme, employment will be provided to the youths who are graduate or postgraduate applicants from IT backgrounds.

Haryana cabinet approves IT Saksham Yuva Scheme to provide 5k jobs in first phase.

The IT saksham yuva will be given ₹20,000, per month remuneration in the first six months and thereafter ₹25,000,” an official spokesperson said, adding in case any IT saksham yuva is not deployed, the state government will pay an unemployment allowance of ₹10,000 per month.

ISRO scientists create the first undersea map of Ram Setu.

India Space Research Organisation (ISRO) with the help of NASA's ICESat-2 satellite has released a detailed map of Ram Setu or Adam Bridge. According to the Optical satellite imagery verification, the pathway is 99.98% submerged in water. The bridge is 29 meters long and 8 meters above the seabed. The released map is a 10-meter resolution map created after 6 years of data.

ISRO scientists create the first undersea map of Ram Setu.

According to the reports, it is said the bridge is 1.5 km wider. This bridge is located between Mannar Island, off the northwest coast of Sri Lanka, and Rameswaram Island, in India. Scientists from ISRO's Jodhpur and Hyderabad National Remote Sensing Centre revealed this map.

ISRO scientists create the first undersea map of Ram Setu.

This map, which depicts a comprehensive image of the bridge underwater was created using advanced laser technology from a US satellite. ICESat-2's green laser allowed for deeper penetration, detecting the seafloor up to 40 meters deep. Researchers acquired around 0.2 million photons from ICESat-2, which provided depth information critical for creating high-resolution data.
