The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), Government of India has announced the selection of a successful bidder under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage. Reliance Industries Limited has been awarded 10 GWh ACC capacity under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme based on the QCBS mechanism.
This initiative is another step towards enhancing domestic manufacturing capacity, reducing import dependence, and positioning India as a global leader in ACC battery manufacturing.
Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) had received bids from seven bidders under global tender for there-bidding of Production Linked Incentives (PLI),
for 10 GWh Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) manufacturing with maximum budgetary outlay of Rs.3,620 crores, announced on 24th January 2024.
In May 2021, the Cabinet had approved the technology-agnostic PLI Scheme on 'National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage’ for achieving a manufacturing capacity of Fifty (50) Giga Watt hours (GWh) of ACC
with an outlay of Rs.18,100 Crore. The first round of the ACC PLI bidding was concluded in March 2022, and three beneficiary firms were allocated a total capacity of Thirty (30) Giga Watt hours (GWh), and the programme agreement with selected beneficiary firms were signed in July 2022.

The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, has sanctioned the formation of the 23rd Law Commission for a three-year term, according to a notification issued. The Law Commission will serve from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2027. It will review and suggest necessary legal reforms within our legal system.
The Commission will consist of a full-time Chairperson, four full-time Members (including a Member-Secretary), a Secretary, the Department of Legal Affairs as an ex officio Member, the Secretary of the Legislative Department as an ex officio Member, and a maximum of five part-time Members.
Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan have recorded the highest growth in real gross state domestic product (GSDP) in FY24 among the 10 largest States ranked according to their GSDP. This is revealed in the analysis of data on recent estimates put out by MoSPI.
In FY24, Telangana, the ninth biggest State, grew its economy at 9.2 percent to reach real GSDP of ₹7.9 lakh crore.
This is faster than national GDP growth of 8.2 percent. Tamil Nadu, which is the third largest State, grew its economy by 8.2 percent to reach ₹15.7 lakh crore in size. Rajasthan, at seventh spot, grew 8 percent.
Sectoral analysis shows that services sector, which contributes the highest to GVA of all the large States, helped in their growth.
Tamil Nadu’s services sector, which holds 52 percent share in total GVA, grew 9 percent and Telangana’s services sector with 63 percent share, grew 11 percent, MoSPI data show. Services underperformed in Maharashtra clocking just about 9 percent growth relative to 13 percent in FY23.
Maharashtra at ₹24.1 lakh crore real GSDP continues to be the largest economy in India. Estimates for Gujarat, which was the second-largest in FY23, is not available yet, but based on its budget estimates, it is likely to hold second spot. UP and Karnataka are neck-to-neck in fourth and fifth spot with UP’s GSDP just ₹130 crore more than that of the latter.

With a focus on technology-driven, high-risk, high-impact ventures, AgriSURE is designed to fuel growth and foster innovation in the agricultural and rural start-up ecosystem. A Blended capital fund of ₹750 crore with SEBI Registered Category II, Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), contributions from the Government of India is ₹250 crore, NABARD is ₹250 crore,
and ₹250 crore is being mobilized from banks, insurance companies, and private investors.
With the introduction of the AgriSURE fund, the government aims to further drive investments in the agriculture sector that will empower farmers and boost the rural economy through accelerating accessible and affordable innovative solutions.
The event preceded the conferring of the AgriSURE Greenathon Awards, to the most innovative start-ups developing tech-centric solutions to address challenges faced by farmers across various stages of the agri-value chain, from selection of input to marketing and value addition.
Greenothon was launched on 12 July 2024 at Mumbai and its Grand Finale with 10 finalists was held before the launch. Out of 2000 budding Agri startups, over 500 prototypes were screened, with 10 finalists pitching their ideas. The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award under the category "Application of Emerging Technologies for Providing Citizen-Centric Services" in the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) during the 27th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG). The award ceremony was held on 3rd September 2024, in Mumbai.

BEE shall recognise NTH as a referral laboratory and send its cases about technical disputes regarding the test results for consultation.

NTH shall conduct Capacity Building Training to BEE Officers at the NTH Regional Laboratories / BEE Head Quarters at Delhi.

Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Law & Justice (Independent Charge) launched the new Notary Portal in a function organised by the Department of Law & Justice in New Delhi.
The Notary Portal provides an online interface between the notaries and the Government for various services like submission of applications for appointment as notaries,
issuance and renewal of Certificates of Practice, change of practice area etc. With the launch of the Notary Portal, the Central Notaries will not be required to submit applications/ requests in physical mode. They can submit applications online; monitor its progress; and download digitally signed Certificates of Practice from their digilocker accounts.
The Notary Portal launched in association with NIC has been designed and developed with different modules which shall be rolled out in phases. In the first stage, a module relating to the issue of a Certificate of Practice to the provisionally selected Notaries has been launched.

Sumit Antil won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw F64 class at Paris 2024 on Monday and became the first Indian male para-athlete to defend his title in the Paralympics.
The 26-year-old Indian para-athlete achieved the feat with a new Paralympic record of 70.59m at the Stade de France.
Incredibly, Sumit got the better of the previous Paralympic record, set by him to win the gold medal at Tokyo 2020, thrice.
Sumit Antil began with a new Paralympic record of 69.11m in his first attempt, which eclipsed his previous record of 68.55m. It comfortably placed him at the top of the standings.
