Steps for filling UPSC EPFO Online Application Form

The complete registration process for the EPFO exam online application is divided into two sections. They are Part I and Part II. The steps that you need to follow to complete your registration in both these sections are mentioned below:

Part I:

  1. The first part requires information regarding your personal details. This includes your full name, date of birth, email ID, contact number, category, name of parents, educational qualifications, contact details, gender, and other basic details. 
  2. You have to type in the correct details in the space provided for each of these categories.
  3. Check your filled details thoroughly. Verify and then submit the application form.
  4. Once you complete the submission of Part I of the form, you will receive your registration number and password.
  5. Note down these details correctly as they will be required for logging in next time.

You can complete the first part of your online registration for the EPFO exam by following the steps mentioned above.

Part II:

Step 1: Complete Payment of the Application Fee

The application fee for candidates depends on the category to which they belong. The amount payable for the EPFO application is as below:

You can make the fee payment depending on the category where you belong through two different modes made available. You can pay the fee either through online mode, or you can opt for the offline mode, as per your preference, to complete your registration for the UPSC EPFO examination.

Options for Fee Payment:

When you click on the ‘Pay Fee’ option, you will be directed to a fresh web page. Here you will be given three options to carry out your application fee payment. If you fall under the category that does not require the payment of fees, then you do not have to perform this step. 

1. Offline Mode: ‘Pay by Cash’

If you select the ‘Pay by Cash’ option, you have to pay the prescribed amount at any branch of the State Bank of India. You can complete the process through the Pay-in-Slip generated by the online application system. After depositing the cash, you have to take a printout of the transaction. In the online application, you will be asked to enter the Transaction ID and the date of the transaction as mentioned by the State Bank of India. You can enter these details and proceed with your application.

2. Online Mode:

You can make an online payment by choosing either one of the two options listed below:

  • Pay by Card: You can make your payment using Master debit/ credit, RuPay, or Visa card issued by any institution or bank. 
  • Pay by Net Banking: You can pay your application fee using the internet banking facility offered by the State Bank of India. 

You will be directed to the respective sites of these banks or institutions for making your payment online.

Step 2: Upload the Required Documents

After choosing the examination centre, you will be required to upload your photograph and signature. You should ensure that you keep these documents scanned and ready on your device to complete the upload process. You must provide your passport size photograph that had been clicked recently in digital (JPG/ JPEG) format. You should also upload a scanned copy of your signature. The file sizes should come under the limits as described above. You can upload these files from your phone or computer’s local storage or through your Digital Locker account. 

The minimum resolution required for these files is 350 pixels (width) x 350 pixels (height). The maximum resolution of these scanned images can be 1000  pixels (width) x 1000 pixels (height). The bit depth of these image files should be 24 bit.

If you are not satisfied with the uploaded image files, an option for re-uploading is also provided before confirmation.  You can click on the Reload Photograph or Reload Signature option to change the given file. You can complete the upload by clicking on the Confirm Upload button. Make sure that none of the files you upload are locked with passwords. 

Step 3: Choose Your Recruitment Exam Centre

You can choose your examination from the centres allocated across different cities. You can choose the centre that falls under your state for the convenience of travel. You will be allotted your preferred examination centre as per the number of exam seats present in that centre and the available vacancies.

Step 4: Preview Your Application

The system will give you a chance to view all the details of your application before the final submission. In this stage, you have to carefully verify each and every field to ensure that you have provided the correct details. If you find any error, you can correct the same immediately. This step will be the last chance that you will have to make changes to your online application for the UPSC EPFO exam.

Step 5: Submit Your Online Application

After filling in all the correct details, uploading scanned documents, and verifying the application form, you can submit your application for UPSC EPFO online by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button. You have to click on the ‘I Agree’ option to complete the submission of your application form. 

Step 6: Print Your Application

It is advised to take a printout copy of your application for future references.

Can I change the exam centre after the final submission of the application form?

No, you will not be allowed to change the exam centre that you selected after you submit your application. UPSC does not give the candidates the provision for changing their exam venue.

Is there an application fee for UPSC EPFO?
