During Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia, India signed Strategic Partnership Council Agreement with Saudi Arabia & became the 4th country to sign such an agreement with Saudi. Agreement will strengthen the already robust relations between the 2 countries.

The bilateral 'Exercise SHAKTI' between the armies of India & France will be conducted from 31 October-13 November 2019. It will focus on counter terrorism operations in semi-desert terrain & aims at enhancing interoperability between the two armies.

President Ram Nath Kovind signed a warrant appointing Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde as the next Chief Justice of India. Justice Bobde will take oath as CJI on November 18. He will succeed Ranjan Gogoi. Arvind Bobde’s term will run until April 23, 2021.
Bobde will be the 47th Chief Justice of India.
Researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in US have developed a new technology to capture carbon dioxide from a stream of air. This will reduce greenhouse gas levels & it takes out the gas even when it is present in very low concentrations.
The device operates at room temperature & normal air pressure.
RBI has imposed a penalty of Rs 35 lakh on Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank for violating norms on frauds classification & notification. It was imposed via an order dated October 24, 2019. TMB is a bank founded in 1921 & headquartered at Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

The people over 80 years of age & person with disability can cast their votes through postal ballot. Such voters will have both the choices available either voting through postal ballot or going to the polling station on polling day for voting.

Women in Delhi will get free rides in public buses starting from 29 October. Conductors will distribute pink tickets to women passengers for free travel & the govt will then reimburse the transporters based on the number of such tickets issued.
