DRDO's RCI develops AI-based Attendance Application

More than one in four jobless in rural areas amid migrant influx

More than one in four workers in rural India are unemployed. The rural job loss rate in the country rose to 25.09% in the week ended 24 May from 22.79% a week earlier, according to weekly job loss data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).

India's crude steel output declines 65% to 3.13 MT in April: World Steel Association

India's crude steel output declined over 65 per cent to 3.13 million tonnes (MT) during April, according to the World Steel Association. India had posted a 14 per cent decline in steel output at 8.65 MT in March as compared with 10.04 MT in March 2019.

ICRA pegs GDP growth at 1.9% in Q4 and 4.3% in FY20

ICRA projected economy to grow by 1.9% in the fourth quarter against 5.8 a year ago and 4.3% in 2019-20 against 6.1% in 2018-19. Earlier, the second advance estimates of the government pegged the growth at 5% in 2019-20, but analysts doubted that number.
