All villages to be connected with optical fibre in next 1,000 days

PM Modi in his address on the Independence Day said that in the coming one thousand days, every village in the country will be connected with Optical Fibre Cable (OFC). He also announced a new policy on cybersecurity to be unveiled shortly.

Ayushman Bharat to cover non-poor too, all health insurance schemes to be merged

UK economy falls into recession; GDP in second quarter collapses by record 20%

Britain’s economy shrank by a record 20.4% between April and June when the coronavirus lockdown was tightest, the largest contraction reported by any major economy so far. It has also entered recession as the economy shrank for a second quarter in a row.

RBI mandates system-based asset classification for UCBs

In order to improve the efficiency, transparency and integrity of the asset classification process the RBI has mandated urban co-operative banks (UCBs) with assets of ₹2,000 crores or more to implement system-based asset classification from 30 June 2021.

Core investment companies can have only two layers: RBI

The Reserve Bank of India has mandated the number of layers of Core Investment Companies (CICs) within a group, including the parent, to be not more than two. This is irrespective of the extent of direct or indirect control CIC exercises in another.
