Jeff Bezos, world's richest man, carries out inaugural space voyage

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos blasted off Blue Origin's New Shepard flight from its Launch Site One in a remote location in the West Texas desert in the United States. The founder of Blue Origin was accompanied by brother Mark Bezos. The successful launch and subsequent touchdown made Wally Funk, 82, the oldest person and Daeman the youngest to have flown in space.

CM KCR to Launch 'Telangana Dalit Bandhu' from Huzurabad

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will launch his government’s new Dalit empowerment scheme, now christened Dalita Bandhu, on a pilot basis from the Huzurabad assembly constituency.

As per the scheme, an eligible Dalit family will get assistance worth Rs 10 lakh. The sanctioned amounts will be deposited in the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.

Ariel Henry to take over as new Haitian Prime Minister

Fourth serosurvey finds 67.6% have antibodies, 40 crore Indians still vulnerable

The fourth round of national serosurvey that was conducted in 70 districts in June-July revealed that a third of the population did not have antibodies against the coronavirus (Covid-19) disease, meaning about 40 crore Indians were still vulnerable to the virus.

It was found that two-thirds of the general population (above the age of six years) had SARS-CoV-2 infection.
