A rare orchid species, Cephalanthera erecta var. oblanceolata, has been found for the first time in India in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district at an altitude of 1870 metres.
Uttarakhand has around 250 recorded orchid species.
Cephalanthera represents a small group of terrestrial orchids with about 19 taxa, mainly distributed in Europe, North America and temperate parts of Asia

Reserve Bank of India has constructed a composite Financial Inclusion Index (FI-Index) to capture the extent of financial inclusion across the country.
The FI-Index has been conceptualised as a comprehensive index incorporating details of banking, investments, insurance, postal as well as the pension sector in consultation with Government and respective sectoral regulators.
The Reserve Bank of India is putting in place a Platform for Regulated Entities for Integrated Supervision and Monitoring (PRISM), a web-based end-to-end workflow automation system, to strengthen compliance by supervised entities (SEs).
This is aimed at helping supervised entities to strengthen their internal defences and resilience and bringing focus on root cause analysis
