PM to inaugurate IFSCA’s InFinity Forum on 3rd December 2021

PM Modi will inaugurate the “InFinity Forum”, a 2-day thought leadership Forum on FinTech, on 3rd December 2021. The event is being hosted by International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) under the aegis of GoI in collaboration with GIFT City and Bloomberg on December 3 and 4, 2021, in virtual mode. Indonesia, South Africa and the U.K. are partner countries.

Union Minister for MSME launched Special Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (SCLCSS) for Services Sector

Shri Narayan Rane has launched SCLCSS which will help in meeting the technology related requirements of enterprises in the services sector and has a provision of 25% capital subsidy for procurement of Plant & Machinery and service equipment through institutional credit to the SC-ST MSEs without any sector specific restrictions on technology upgradation.

India records close to 15% rise in export of agricultural and processed food products in April-October

In a major boost to export prospects of agricultural produce, India registered a surge in export of agricultural and processed food products in April-October period of FY22, in comparison to the corresponding seven month period of FY21. APEDA exports up by 14.7% to $11.6 Billion in first seven months of current FY from $10.1 Billion over corresponding period last FY.

Flipkart to acquire majority stake in online pharmacy SastaSundar.com

Walmart-owned Flipkart has said it will acquire majority stake in Kolkata-based SastaSundar Marketplace that owns and operates online pharmacy and digital healthcare platform, SastaSundar.com. Flipkart said it is foraying into the healthcare sector through the launch of Flipkart Health. SastaSundar.com offers a digital healthcare and pharmacy platform with 490 pharmacies.

Union Bank of India Ranks 3rd in PSB reforms

Union Bank of India ranked 3rd amongst 12 PSBs in EASE 4.0 Reforms Index for Q1 FY22, as per the rank list released by Indian Banks’ Association (IBA). The Bank has been actively adopting the reforms initiatives recommended under the EASE Agenda enabling it to retain the overall position of Second Runner Up from the last three consecutive quarters since December 2020.

Centre to procure two fixed base full mission simulators for Jaguar Aircraft

Centre signs contract to procure two Fixed Base Full Mission Simulators for Jaguar Aircraft from HAL for IAF with a five years comprehensive annual maintenance contract. They would be procured for Rs.357 crore.

These simulators would be installed at Air Force Stations Jamnagar and Gorakhpur.

NCRA astronomers discover rare radio stars

In a vital discovery which will aid in the understanding of “exotic” radio stars and stellar magnetospheres, a team of astronomers from the Pune-based National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA-TIFR) have used the upgraded Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (uGMRT) to discover eight stars belonging to a rare category called ‘Main-sequence Radio Pulse’ emitters or MRPs.

Geographical Information System (GIS) plans for around 75% Gram Panchayats completed

The Ministry of Rural Development has reached milestone with the completion of Geographical Information System (GIS) plans for 2 lakh Gram Panchayats (GPs) out of 2.69 lakh GPs under MGNREGA using remote sensing technology based on the ridge to valley approach. GIS-based planning helps the Gram Panchayat to ensure a scientific & holistic approach for planning.
