₹1,44,616 Crore Gross GST Revenue Collection For June 2022; Increase Of 56% Year-On-Year

The gross GST revenue collected in the month of June 2022 is ₹144,616 crore of which CGST is ₹25,306 crore, SGST is ₹32,406 crore, IGST is ₹75887 crore and cess is ₹11,018 crore.

The gross GST collection in June 2022 is the second highest collection next to the April 2022 collection of ₹1,67,540 crore.

T-Hub 2.0, world’s largest innovation campus inaugurated in Hyderabad.

K Chandrasekhar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana, inaugurated the T-Hub 2.0. It is the world’s largest innovation campus in Hyderabad.

The innovation campus is T-shaped, with a total built-up area of 5,82,689 square feet, making it the world's largest (the second largest being 'Station F' based in France)

It is made with an aim to support around 2,000 startups.

INS Kochi Visits Safaga, Egypt

INS Kochi, Mission Deployed in the Red Sea visited Port Safaga, Egypt from 28 - 30 Jun 22.

Engagements between Indian Navy and Egyptian Navy personnel included a friendly football match at the Red Sea Navy Base.

On her departure from Safaga on 30 June 22, INS Kochi participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise with the Egyptian Navy ships ENS Al Zubair and ENS Abu Ubadah

In a major breakthrough, DRDO successfully carried out the maiden flight of the Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator from the Aeronautical Test Range, Chitradurga, Karnataka.

Powered by a small turbofan engine, the unmanned aerial vehicle is designed and developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, a premier research laboratory of DRDO.

Iran, Argentina apply to join BRICS bloc

Iran and Argentina have applied to join the BRICS grouping, that account for more than 40 per cent of the world’s population and about 26 per cent of the global economy.

BRIC was coined by Goldman Sachs economist Jim O’Neill in 2001 to describe the startling rise of Brazil, Russia, India, and China. The BRIC powers had their first summit in 2009 in Russia.

Core sector output expands by 18.1% in May, highest in 13 months

India’s combined index of eight core industries saw a huge jump in the month of May as it rose by 18.1% compared to 9.3% in April 2022, driven by cement, steel and natural gas, according to the data released by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

The 8 core sectors account for 40.27 per cent of the weight of the items included in the Index of Industrial Production(IIP)

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare ,Narendra Singh Tomar,inaugurated the centenary year celebrations of the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal (Haryana).

National Dairy Research Institute was established at Bangalore in 1923 as Imperial Institute of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. It was renamed as NDRI in 1947.

LIC emerges as the most advertised brand across sectors in Jan-Mar 2022: AdEx India,TAM Media Research

BFSI sector made a comeback in terms of advertising as the sector recorded a rise in all mediums-television, radio, print as well as digital-in Jan-Mar’22 period.

Among the BFSI sector, Life Insurance emerged as the top advertiser on television with 31% share of the sector ad volume,topped the charts in print and radio(27%) and digital(28%).

DoT signs agreement with ITI, BSNL to fund USOF projects

The Department of Telecommunications signed an agreement with ITI Limited and state-run telco BSNL to fund pilot projects under the Universal Service Obligation Fund(USOF).

DoT, BSNL and ITI Limited will fund the pilot projects of E-band, LTE indigenous technologies, including integration of 4G and 5G prototypes with C-DOT core.

Govt revamps Banks Board into Financial Services Institutions Bureau

government has transformed the Banks Board Bureau (BBB), the headhunter for directors of state-owned banks and financial institutions, into the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) by making some amendments.

It also approved the appointment of Bhanu Pratap Sharma, former Chairman, BBB as the initial chairperson of FSIB for a term of two years.

Former diplomat Satinder Kumar Lambah, who headed the backchannel diplomatic negotiations between India and Pakistan from 2005 to 2014, passed away in Delhi at 81.

As former prime minister Manmohan Singh's special envoy to Pakistan, he was credited for his role as a negotiator when the relations between India-Pakistan improved in the 2004-08 period.

National Games will be held in Gujarat from Sept 27-Oct 10 this year: IOA

Postponed several times due to different reasons, the National Games will be held in multiple cities in Gujarat in September-October this year, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Secretary General Rajiv Mehta announced.

The Games will be held in five or six cities in Gujarat, including Ahmedabad in September-October

Delhi-born Raja Krishnamoorthi has won the Democratic primary for a Congressional seat in the US.

Krishnamoorthi won from Illinois with a decisive mandate, and successfully overcame a highly communal campaign run by his opponent Junaid Ahmed.

R Krishnamoorthi defeated Ahmed with over 71% of the votes.

CRISIL cuts FY23 GDP growth estimate to 7.3% from 7.8% on high inflation

Domestic rating agency Crisil lowered its real GDP growth forecast for India to 7.3 per cent in FY23 from 7.8 per cent estimated earlier.

It attributed the downward revision to higher oil prices, slowing of export demand and high inflation.

This is in line with the RBI's estimate of 7.2 real GDP growth for this fiscal year.

NTPC declared commercial operation of the final part capacity of 20 MW out of 100 MW Ramagundam Floating Solar PV Project at Ramagundam, Telangana with effect from 1st of July.

With the operationalisation of the 100-MW Solar PV Project at Ramagundam, the total commercial operation of floating solar capacity in the Southern Region rose to 217 MW.
