SEBI Approves Ashishkumar Chauhan As NSE's Next CEO

Sh. Chauhan is MD & CEO at BSE Ltd., India's oldest stock exchange, and his tenure ends in November. He was part of the core team that started NSE in 1993. Chauhan succeeds Vikram Limaye whose term ended on July 16.

Limaye was appointed as the NSE chief in July 2017.

Mr. Girish Chandra Chaturvedi is the Chairman of NSE.

PV Sindhu wins Singapore Open; defeats China's Wang Zhi Yi in women's singles final

Double Olympic medallist P V Sindhu lifted the Singapore Open Super 500 trophy after outwitting China's Wang Zhi Yi in an intense women's singles final.

This was her third title of the season -- having won two Super 300 crowns in Syed Modi International and Swiss Open.

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (Indonesia) won the men's singles titlewith victory over Naraoka Kodai(Japan).

R Praggnanandhaa claims Paracin Open 'A' chess tournament 2022 title

Young Indian Grand Master R Praggnanandhaa added another feather to his cap by winning the Open A section of the 15th International Chess Open Paracin by scoring eight points from the nine rounds. The tournament was held in the town of Paracin in Serbia.

Russian player Alexandr Predke playing under the flag of FIDE, the sport's world governing body, claimed the second spot.

Bharti Airtel announces successful trial of India’s first 5G private network

Bharti Airtel has successfully deployed the country’s first 5G private network at Bosch Automotive Electronics India (RBAI) facility in Bengaluru.

Airtel said its 5G solution helped Bosch shop floor managers and operators identify and resolve issues in real time, thus reducing the Mean Time To Repair (MTTR ) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).

INS Sindhudhvaj submarine decommissioned after 35 years of service

The Navy’s Kilo-class submarine, INS Sindhudhvaj, was decommissioned from service at Visakhapatnam after 35 years in service. With this, the Navy now has 15 conventional submarines in service.

INS Sindhudhvaj was the only submarine to be awarded the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) rolling trophy for Innovation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Australia Tennis star Lleyton Hewitt inducted into Hall of Fame

Lleyton Hewitt, a two-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one, was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

The Aussie icon won his first ATP title in Adelaide in 1998 and his last in 2014 at the Hall of Fame Open, defeating Ivo Karlovic.

Hewitt won the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon title.

ITBP creates 1st mountain-warfare training school in NE for LAC guarding troops

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has created its first mountain-warfare training centre in northeast India, its second overall, to skill its troops in high-altitude combat and survival tactics as part of their mandate to guard the Line of Actual Control with China.

The M&SI is located at a height of more than 9,000 ft in the Himalayan ranges of Uttarakhand.

India, China hold 16th round of Corps Commander talks

India and China held the 16th round of Corps Commander level talks for over 12 hours as the two sides attempted to revive the stalled process of disengagement and de-escalation in Eastern Ladakh.

The Indian side is led by Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, 14 Corps Commander.

The 15th round of Corps Commander talks took place on March 11, 2022.
