Centre gives nod to Tejas Mark-2 development project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) approved the project to develop LCA Mark 2 multirole fighter jet, a more capable and powerful version of the indigenous aircraft.

The fighter jet will be developed at a cost of over Rs 6,500 crore, in addition to the Rs 2,500 crore previously sanctioned for it.

PM Modi lays foundation stone of Kochi Metro Phase- II, inaugurates various projects in Railway sector in Kerala

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Phase-II stretch of the Kochi Metro rail project and the redevelopment of three railway stations in Kerala -- Ernakulam Junction, Ernakulam Town and Kollam.

The phase-II stretch of the Kochi Metro will be from JLN stadium to Infopark, having a length of 11.2 kilometres and covering 11 stations.

Govt gives nod to 3 states to set up bulk drug parks to boost pharma production

The Department of Pharmaceuticals has given ‘in-principle’ approval to the proposals of the three states --Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh---under the Scheme for ‘Promotion of Bulk Drug Parks’, an initiative to support drugs manufacturing in the country.

The scheme, notified in 2020 has a financial outlay of Rs 3,000 crores.

UPI clocks 657 crore transactions in August, totalling Rs 10.73 lakh crore

The value of UPI-based digital payments in August 2022 crossed Rs 10.73 lakh crore, which is marginally higher than Rs 10.63 lakh crore clocked in July month of the same year, according to the latest data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI).

The number of Aadhaar-based ‘AePS’ transactions declined to 10.56 crore in August from 11 crores in July.

Laxman Narasimhan steps down as Reckitt Benckiser CEO; Nicandro Durante to take charge

Reckitt Benckiser Group plc ("Reckitt") announced that its CEO, Laxman Narasimhan will step down as Chief Executive Officer on September 30, 2022.

Laxman will be replaced by Nicandro Durante, current Senior Independent Director, who will step into the role of CEO.

August GST revenue collection up 28% YoY at Rs 1.44 lakh cr

The gross GST revenue collected in the month of August 2022 stood at Rs 1,43,612 crore, up 28% on a year-on-year basis, the Finance Ministry said in a statement With this, the monthly GST revenues have exceeded Rs 1.4 lakh crore for six months in a row.In July, the GST collection was Rs 1.49 lakh crore, the second-highest level since its introduction in July 2017.

UGC to launch 'e-Samadhan' portal for resolving grievances of students and staff

The University Grants Commission(UGC) is all set to launch its new centralised portal called 'e-Samadhan' to monitor and resolve all grievances of students and staff members in varsities. INS Vikrant, India's First Home-Built Aircraft Carrier, Commissioned

INS Vikrant, India's first home-built aircraft carrier, was formally commissioned after completing almost a year of sea trials. The 45,000-tonne warship has been built at a cost of ₹ 20,000 crore. PM Modi also unveiled the new Naval Ensign. The Navy had earlier said the new insignia will be befitting the rich Indian maritime heritage.

Reliance Industries to build world's largest carbon fibre plants.

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, in the 45th AGM on Monday, announced to build India's first and one of the world’s largest Carbon Fibre plants at Hazira, Gujarat.
