RBI launches Quarterly Order Books, Inventories and Capacity Utilisation Survey: January - March 2023 (Round 61)

The Reserve Bank of India launched the 61st round of its Order Books, Inventories, and Capacity Utilisation Survey (OBICUS). The survey is for the reference period January - March 2023 (Q4:2022-23).

The Reserve Bank has been conducting the Order Books, Inventories, and Capacity Utilisation Survey (OBICUS) of the manufacturing sector on a quarterly basis since 2008.

EAM S Jaishankar launches 'Tulsi Ghat Restoration Project' in Uganda

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar launched the 'Tulsi Ghat Restoration Project' of Varanasi, during his visit to Uganda's Kampala.

Earlier he met Uganda's President Yoweri K Museveni at his farm in Rwakitura and congratulated the country on assuming the chairship of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The NAM chair position rotates every 3 years during summit conferences.

Gold Imports Dip 30% To $31.8 Billion in April–February 2023

India's gold imports, which have a bearing on the current account deficit, fell about 30% to $31.8 billion during April–February 2023 due to high customs duty and global economic uncertainties, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Imports of the yellow metal stood at $45.2 billion in the corresponding period of 2021–22.

Drug major Cipla Ltd has inked a licencing pact with Novartis Pharma AG to manufacture and market the Galvus range, used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, starting Jan. 1, 2026.

The Mumbai-based company has signed a perpetual license agreement with Novartis Pharma AG (Switzerland) to manufacture and market Galvus and Galvus combination brands, it said.
