CBDT notifies ITR-1, ITR-4 forms for AY 2024-25

CBDT has notified two new return forms, ITR-1 (SAHAJ) and ITR-4 (SUGAM), for the Assessment Year 2024-25. These forms will come into effect from April 1, 2024.

ITR 1, or Sahaj, can be filed by a resident individual having income of up to ₹50 lakh from salary and agricultural income.

ITR 4, or Sugam is for income of up to ₹50 lakh and income from business and profession.

SBI signs Rs 1,300 cr LoC with World Bank for rooftop solar projects

The State Bank of India (SBI)said it has signed a $165 million (over Rs 1,300 crore) Line of Credit (LoC) with the World Bank for promoting rooftop solar projects in the country.

Earlier this week, SBI signed a 200 million euro (about Rs 1,800 crore) LoC with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for supporting climate action projects.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has teamed up with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to help the farming sector tackle the adverse impact of climate change.

The two organisations, in association with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,will tap climate capital to fund agricultural, natural resources and rural development (ANR) initiatives.

Maruti Suzuki signs MoA with Haryana government to set up fourth JIM

Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL)said it has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the government of Haryana to set up second Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM), at Kansala, in Rohtak.

Spread over five acres, the existing ITI Kansala will be upgraded to a JIM with an investment of ₹5.8 crore as a CSR activity of the company.

World Bank provides $300 million loan to Tamil Nadu to help 21 Urban Local Bodies

According to the World Bank, the newly approved USD 300 million Tamil Nadu Climate Resilient Urban Development Program is set to enhance access to quality water and sewerage services, promoting climate-resilient cities in the face of escalating climate shocks such as floods and droughts.

The program will target 21 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), upgrading their delivery systems.

Delhi, followed by Bangalore and Mumbai lead India’s crypto adoption: Report

A report by crypto trading platform CoinSwitch showed Delhi maintained its lead in India’s crypto adoption, followed by Bangalore and Mumbai. The parameter for this was in terms of value invested:Delhi (9 per cent), Bangalore (8 per cent) and Mumbai (5 per cent). Ghaziabad claimed the 10th position in the list of the top invested cities, replacing Patna.

CISF to replace Delhi Police for security duty of Parliament building complex

The Union Home Ministry has approved the deployment of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in the Parliament complex.

The decision comes days after the December 13 security breach in the Parliament.

The Delhi Police, however, will continue to provide security outside the parliament building complex.

IT major Infosys announced the termination of its $1.5 billion agreement with an undisclosed global company, focused on artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, signed in September.

Kiyana, Harsh win gold in Asian Youth Chess Championships

Two Indian youngsters, Kiyana Parihar (U-8 Girls) and Harsh Suresh (U-16 open) won gold medals in the 25th Asian Youth Chess Championships (Classical), held at Al Ain Convention Centre in UAE.

Kiyana had also bagged the silver medal in the Asian U-8 Girls rapid chess championship held last week.
