Every year the International Day of Families is celebrated on May 15th. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the International Day of Families. The theme for International Day of Families 2024 is 'Families and Climate Change'. It "aims to raise awareness of how climate change impacts families and the role families can play in climate action.

The observance event will feature presentations on the outcomes of major regional IYF+30 preparatory activities, civil society initiatives, recommendations on family policies for climate action, and an interactive discussion. Additionally, two publications titled "Climate Change and Families" and "Home, Family, and Climate Change" will be unveiled during the event.

Canadian Author Alice Munro and Nobel Laureate Passes Away at Age Of 92

Canadian author Alice Munro and Nobel laureate passed away at the age of 92. She wrote short stories for more than 60 years, often focusing on life in rural Canada. She was often compared to Russian writer Anton Chekhov for the insight and compassion found in her stories.

Munro was recipient of the Nobel Prize for literature in 2013.
