In order to be eligible to apply for the post of RBI Assistant, the candidates should meet the following criteria-

RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria – Nationality

A candidate is required to be

  • a citizen of India or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

RBI Assistant Educational Qualifications 2024

Authorities calculate the percentage of marks by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all subjects and semesters by the maximum marks in all subjects. They ignore any fractions in the percentage. For example, if the percentage calculated is 49.99%, it will be considered as 50%.

Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT: Candidates should know how to read/write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT for which a candidate wishes to apply.

RBI Assistant Eligibility 2024 – Age Relaxation

The RBI Assistant Eligibility 2024 Age Relaxation granted by RBI is as follows-

Note: 

  • The candidate needs to show the 10th standard marks sheet or any other Educational certificate as proof of age.

RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria – Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of times a candidate can attempt the RBI Assistant exam. Of course, the restriction will come in place due to the age limit which candidates should bear in mind.

RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2024 Scheme of Selection

The selection process for the position of RBI Assistant consists of three stages: the Preliminary Exam, the Main Exam, and the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

Preliminary Exam:

The preliminary exam is the first stage and includes three sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude.

Main Exam:

Candidates who pass the preliminary exam move on to the main exam, which consists of five sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge, and Computer Knowledge.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT):

After successfully passing both the preliminary and main exams, candidates are eligible to take the Language Proficiency Test. This test ensures that candidates are proficient in the official language of the state they are applying for.

Final Selection:

The final selection of candidates is based on their performance in the online examinations (preliminary and main), the qualifying Language Proficiency Test, a medical examination, and document verification.
