The RRB NTPC 2024 Examination consists of a series of 2 Computer Based Tests (CBT), CBAT/Skill Test, Document Verification. This year, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced to recruit eligible candidates for 11,558 candidates. RRB NTPC Exam Pattern CBT 1

The RRB NTPC Exam Pattern for Computer Based Test 1 has been outlined in the table below.

• The total time allowed for the exam will be 90 minutes (120 Minutes in case of PwD candidates).
• The questions will be in an objective format with multiple-choice answers.
• Qualifying Marks: UR-40%, EWS40%, OBC (Non creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
• The Mathematics and General Intelligence & Reasoning sections will each consist of 30 questions, while the General Awareness section will have 40 questions.
• Negative marking applies, with 1/3 of a mark deducted for every incorrect response.
• The number of candidates to be shortlisted will be 20 times the community-wise vacancies for the posts announced by the RRB, based on their performance in the 1st Stage CBT and their preferences for posts.

• Candidates will be shortlisted for the 2nd Stage CBT according to their merit, using the normalized scores from the 1st Stage CBT.
• There will be a penalty of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
• The difficulty level of the questions will vary based on the level of the posts. Marks will be normalized for fairness.

RRB NTPC Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) 2024

To qualify, candidates must achieve a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each test battery. This requirement is uniform for all candidates, regardless of community or category, and no relaxation in the minimum T-Score will be allowed. Candidates must pass each test battery of the CBAT to be considered for the Station Master (SM) or Traffic Assistant (TA) posts.

The CBAT will include questions with answer options available only in English and Hindi, and there will be no negative marking. The final merit list will be prepared from those who qualify in the CBAT, with 70% weightage given to marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage to marks from the CBAT.

RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test 2024

Negative Marking in RRB NTPC Exam Pattern

The RRB NTPC exam includes a negative marking system. For every incorrect answer in CBT-1 and CBT-2, 0.33 or 1/3rd mark is deducted from the total score.
