SSC Selection Post Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for SSC Selection Phase is dependent on the following factors:

• Nationality
• Age Limit
• Educational Qualification

Nationality

A candidate must be either: 
(a) A citizen of India, or 
(b) A subject of Nepal, or 
(c) A subject of Bhutan, or 
(d) A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or 
(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

The minimum and maximum age limit as on 01.01.2022 should be:

Store Keeper Gr-II Junior Engineer, Scientific Assistant	Min 18 years – Max 30 years
Field Assistant	Min 18 years – Max 25 years
Technical Officer, Dietician Gr-III, Technical Superintendent, Textile Designer and Sr. Scientific Assistant	Min 18 years – Max 30 years
Girls Cadet Instructor	Min 20 years – Max 25 years
Fumigation Assistant	Min 18 years – Max 25 years
Laboratory Attendant	Min 18 years – Max 27 years
Library & Information Assistant	Min 18 years – Max 28 years
Library Clerk	Min 18 years – Max 25 years
Junior Technical Assistant	Min 18 years – Max 30 years
Senior Technical Assistant	Min 18 years – Max 30 years

Proof for Date of Birth: The Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate only will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

Age Limit Relaxation

Certain sections of candidates are entitled to age relaxation. The age limits for the same are as detailed in the table below.

08	Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and  released as a consequence thereof	3 years
09	Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (SC/ ST)	8 years

For Group ‘C’ Posts Only

The following age relaxations are application to only those candidates who are applying to Group C posts.

10	Central Govt. Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous  service  as  on closing  date  for receipt of application	Up to 40 years of age
11	Central Govt. Civilian Employees (SC/ST) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date for receipt of application	Up to 45 years of age
12	Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried	Up to 35 years of age
13	Widows/ Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (SC/ ST)	Up to 40 years of age

Educational Qualification

The education qualification for candidates applying at Matric, Intermediate level, and Graduate level is different from each other. The details below show the educational criteria set by the SSC.

At Matric Level

 The Candidates who applied for the SSC Selection post-examination should have  Passed the Class 10th (High School) Exam from Recognized Board.

At Intermediate Level

The Candidates who have applied for SSC Selection post Examination at the intermediate level should have passed the Class 12th (Intermediate) Exam from the Recognized Board.

At Graduation Level 

The Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Any Stream from a Recognized University in India if he has applied for the SSC Selection post examination at the Graduation level.
