India improved its ranking in the global innovation index by five places to 52nd in 2019. The GII rankings are published by Cornell University, INSEAD and the WIPO and GII Knowledge Partners.Switzerland retained its number-one spot on the index.
GII ranks 129 economies based on 80 indicators.
NTPC has signed a pact with BHEL to set up an 800 MW technology demonstration plant (TDP) at its power plant in Chhattisgarh. TDP shall be based on the advanced ultra- super critical technology. The plant can reduce the CO2 emission by 20%.
