13 June: International Albinism Awareness Day

On 2014 December 18, the United Nations’ General Assembly adopted a resolution establishing June 13th as International Albinism Awareness Day. Albinism is an inherited genetic condition that reduces the amount of melanin pigment in the skin, hair and eyes.

QS World University Ranking 2021: 3 Indian Institutes Out of Top 200

Three educational institutes from India, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Indian Institute of Science and IIT Delhi feature in the top 200 list of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2021. MIT of US took the number one spot.

Indian Navy inaugurates Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle Complex at Visakhapatnam

DSRV Complex, Visakhapatnam is designed to accommodate the newly inducted Submarine Rescue System with state-of-the-art facilities to store the DSRV assets in a Rescue-Ready state. Currently, there are about 40 nations that operate submarines in the world.

MHRD releases the National Institute Ranking Framework list

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) released the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking list. The IIT Madras topped the list followed by IISc Bangalore. The third place was secured by IIT Delhi.

3rd phase of SAUNI scheme to be completed by 2021 to fill Saurashtra dams

Gujarat Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani announced that the phase 2 and phase 3 of the Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI) scheme to fill Saurashtra's 115 dams with Narmada water will be completed by August 15 and March 2021 respectively.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the Jagananna Chedodu scheme. A total of 2.47 lakh beneficiaries will be credited with this scheme and Rs. 10,000 to Nayi Brahmins, Laundry men and Tailors as a financial aid.

IFFCO signs MoU with ICAR for collaborative research, testing and validation of different products

Former world champion boxer Oleksandr Gvozdyk retires

The former world light heavyweight boxing champion from Ukrain, Oleksandr Gvozdyk has retired. Gvozdyk won the WBC title in December 2018 when he knocked out Adonis Stevenson, who had held the belt for five years.

Manchester United legend Tony Dunne dies aged 78

Former Manchester United defender Tony Dunne, who played in their 1st European Cup-winning side in 1968, has died at the age of 78. He made 535 appearances for Manchester United & scored only 2 goals. He won the Irish Footballer of the year award in 1969.
