IMF projects 11.5% growth rate for India in 2021, only country with double digit growth

As per IMF's latest World Economic Outlook Update,China is next with 8.1% growth in 2021 followed by Spain 5.9% & France 5.5%.India’s economy is projected to grow by 6.8% in 2022 and that of China by 5.6%.In 2020,Indian economy contracted by 8%.

Finance Minister inaugurated the Chennai Bench of National Company Law Appellate Tribunal

Fresh appeals against the orders of the Benches of the tribunal having jurisdiction in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and the Union Territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry will have to be filed before the Chennai Bench.

RBI extends Rs 7,000-crore special liquidity assistance to DBS Bank

Funds will be used by DBS Bank India to meet its short-term funding needs after the acquisition of Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB).This funding may be charged with interest rates close to or linked to the repo rate, at which the RBI usually lends to banks.

Bullet train project: Consortium of L&T, Japanese IHI Infrastructure Systems bags Rs 1,390 crore contact for steel bridges

It is estimated that about 70,000 MT of steel will be used for the fabrication of the 4.5km bridges for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.In total, 28 steel bridges with individual spans varying from 60 metre to 130 metre will be constructed.

India among top 10 countries most affected by climate change: Germanwatch's Global Climate Risk Index 2021

Eight of the 10 countries most affected between 2000 and 2019 are developing countries with low or lower middle income per capita. India ranked as the seventh worst-hit country in 2019. Due to cyclone 'Idai' Mozambique and Zimbabwe topped the list.

Operation Sard Hawa by Border Security Force concluded.
