World Tsunami Awareness Day: 5 November

In 2021, World Tsunami Awareness Day promotes "Sendai Seven Campaign,” target (f), which aims to 'substantially enhance international cooperation to developing countries through adequate and sustainable support to complement their national actions for implementation of the present Framework by 2030.'In December 2015, the UN General Assembly designated 5 November a this day.

Gujarati New Year - Bestu Varas being celebrated in different parts of country on 5 November

Ayodhya's Deepotsav made it to the Guinness World Records after the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department displayed over nine lakh oil lamps along the banks of river Saryu as a part of grand Diwali celebrations in the holy city. Indian Boxer Akash Kumar settles for bronze after going down in semi-final at AIBA Men's World Championships

In AIBA Men's World Boxing Championships, Debutant Akash Kumar had to settle for bronze after going down in the 54 kg category semi-final against Makhmud Sabyrkhan of Kazakhstan at Belgrade in Serbia. The 21-year-old Akash lost 0-5 to end India's campaign in the competition. Akash has become the seventh Indian male boxer to win a medal at the world championships.

NHAI InvIT attracts marquee institutional investors

National Highways Authority of India (“NHAI”) has the largest share under the National Monetisation Pipeline. NHAI announced the launch of its InvIT as a mode to monetise road projects. The InvIT will initially have a portfolio of five operating toll roads with an aggregate length of 390 kilometers, with more roads planned to be added later.

Harbhajan Singh, Javagal Srinath get MCC life membership

India’s Harbhajan Singh and Javagal Srinath have been awarded life membership of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), joining 16 other cricketers who were given the honour this year. The MCC, based at Lord’s, is the custodian of cricket laws. Srinath, currently an ICC Elite Panel Match Referee, is one of the greatest fast bowlers with 315 ODI wickets and 236 Test wickets.
