The date of 29 November is observed as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People since 1978.

This date is based on the Partition Plan or the Resolution 181(II), intended to establish an Arab State and a Jewish State,which was adopted on 29 November 1947.

Frank Williams,founder Of Williams F1 Team, Dies Aged 79

Sir Frank Williams, the founder and former team principal of Williams Racing, has died.

Williams took his motor racing team from an empty carpet warehouse to the summit of Formula One, overseeing 114 victories, a combined 16 drivers’ and constructors’ world championships, while becoming the longest-serving team boss in the sport’s history.

Dance choreographer Shiva Shankar no more

Renowned dance choreographer Shiva Shankar died due to Covid-19 related complications. He was 72.

The National Award-winning artiste Shiva Shankar ‘Master’ as he is known in the film industry,had worked in nearly 800 films covering 10 languages.

His choreography for the ‘Dheera Dheera...’ number in Rajamouli's Maghadheera won him the National Award in 2011.

Exim Bank commits $100 million loan for Covid vaccines in FY 22

Export-Import Bank of India has committed loans worth $100 million for domestic manufacturers of Covid-19 vaccines or related products.

The loans are also being extended to other countries. With vaccine portfolio size of $250 million in Africa,this will be an advantage for Indian firms as the financing mandates Africa to source vaccines and related products only from India.

First ever Multi-dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) by NITI Aayog - 50% population of Bihar 'multidimensionally poor'.

Bihar with 51.91% has the maximum percentage of the population living in poverty among all the States and the Union Territories followed by Jharkhand (42.16%), Uttar Pradesh (37.79%), Madhya Pradesh (36.65%) and Meghalaya (32.67%).

Kerala registered the lowest population poverty levels at 0.71%.

The report was based on the reference period of the 2015-16 NFHS survey.

RBI panel for higher cap on promoter stake in pvt banks at 26% after 15 yrs

RBI accepted most of the recommendations(21 out of 33) of its working group on corporate ownership of private sector banks, by allowing unrestrained promoter shareholding in the first five years of operations and hiking the same to 26% after 15 years from the extant 15% and also the new capital requirements.

RBI constituted the working group on June 12, 2020.

Ace mountaineer Harshwanti Bisht elected as first woman president of Indian Mountaineering Foundation

Noted mountaineer from Uttarakhand Harshwanti Bisht has earned the distinction of being elected the first woman president of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF).

Bisht, who did a course in mountaineering from the Uttarkashi-based Nehru Institute of Mountaineering in 1975, scaled the Nanda Devi peak in 1981 which earned her the Arjuna award.

World's tallest railway bridge pier to come up in Manipur

The Indian Railways is constructing the world's tallest bridge pier in Manipur which is a part of 111 km long Jiribam-Imphal railway project.

The bridge, which is being built at a pier height of 141 metres, will surpass the existing record of 139 meter of Mala - Rijeka viaduct, Montenegro in Europe.

The work on the bridge will be completed by December 2023.
