Kerala gets its first Bird Atlas; records of 361 bird species

Kerala Bird Atlas (KBA) is a first-of-a-kind state-level bird atlas in India. The atlas, curated over years, covers a number of species found in the State.

Birds are excellent indicators of ecosystem health.

As per reports, is Asia’s largest bird atlas in terms of geographical extent, sampling efforts, and species coverage derived from the aggregation of 25,000 checklists.

Indian Navy conducts workshop on artificial intelligence in Jamnagar

The Indian Navy conducted a three-day-long virtual workshop at Indian naval station (INS) Valsura in Jamnagar of Gujarat on leveraging artificial intelligence.

The workshop, which was conducted under the aegis of southern naval command.

The Indian Navy is focused on incorporation of artificial intelligence and machine learning in critical mission areas.

South maubuang becomes mizoram's first odf plus village

The village of South Maubuang in Aibawk block of Aizawl district in Mizoram has been declared a model ODF Plus village, having fulfilled all the criteria as per SBM-G Phase II guidelines.

According to official data, the village which has a population of 649 individuals from 116 households has emerged as the first ODF Plus village in the State of Mizoram.

Legendary Indian Hockey Player Charanjit Singh Dies

Captain of India's 1964 Tokyo Olympics gold medal-winning hockey team, Charanjit Singh, died in Una, Himachal Pradesh after suffering a cardiac arrest that followed prolonged age-related illnesses.

The former mid-fielder was 90 and would have turned a year older next month.

Charanjit suffered a stroke five years back and was paralysed since then.

MeitY unveils roadmap to achieve US$300 billion from electronics manufacturing and exports by 2026

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Ashwini Vaishnaw released a five-year roadmap and vision document for the electronics sector, titled “$300 bn Sustainable Electronics Manufacturing & Exports by 2026”. Mobile manufacturing that is expected to cross US $100 billion annual production - up from the current US $30 billion.

Decommissioned INS Khukri to be converted into museum

The Indian Navy handed INS Khukri, the reincarnation of the warship of the same name which had played a key role in 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, to the Union Territory of Diu for public display and to be converted into a museum.

It was decommissioned last month after 32 years of service.

Karnataka launches 'Brain Health Initiative' to help people beat Covid stres

Karnataka has launched 'Brain Health Initiative', a first-of-its-kind in the country, undertaken by NIMHANS in association with NITI Aayog in the state.
