World Food Safety Day | June 7

Every year, June 7 is observed as World Food Safety Day around the world. The intent behind the day is to promote awareness and encourage adequate steps to prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks.

The day was set aside by the United Nations in 2018 to raise awareness of food safety.

This year, the theme of World Food Safety Day is, “Safer Food, Better Health”.

Border Coordination Conference between BSF-BGB concludes in Bangladesh

A 4-day Inspector General BSF- Regional Commander BGB level Border Coordination Conference between India and Bangladesh was held in Sylhet.

A five-member Border Security Force(BSF) delegation was led by IG BSF Sumit Sharan. Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) was led by Brigadier General Tanvir Gani Chowdhury, Regional Commander, Chittagong.

IKEA India to open first store in Bengaluru on June 22

IKEA India (part of the Ingka Group), the global Swedish home furnishings retailer said that it will open doors to its store in Bengaluru, located at Nagasandra on June 22, 2022.

India's textiles exports highest-ever in FY22 at $44.4 billion: Govenment

India recorded its highest-ever textiles and apparel exports in the financial year 2021-22 at USD 44.4 billion.

The exports tally, which also includes handicrafts, indicates a substantial increase of 41 per cent and 26 per cent over corresponding figures in FY21 and FY20, respectively.

USA was the top export destination for the country's textiles and apparel shipments.

India successfully carried out a training launch of nuclear-capable Agni-4 Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.

The successful test of Agni-4 reaffirms India's policy of having a "credible minimum deterrence" capability.

Indian Railways increases online ticket booking limit through IRCTC website and app

The Railways Ministry said, it has decided to increase the limit of booking maximum six tickets in a month to twelve tickets by a user ID which is not Aadhaar-linked. The Ministry has also increased the limit of booking maximum twelve tickets in a month to 24 tickets by a user ID which is Aadhaar-linked.

PM Modi releases 11th installment of PM-KISAN benefits worth Rs 21,000 crore to more than 10 crore families

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 11th instalment of financial benefits worth Rs 21,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme to more than 10 crore farmers in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

Under the PM-KISAN, financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to the eligible farmer families, payable in three equal instalments of Rs.2000.
