First observed in 1993, the objective of World Water Day is to raise awareness and inspire action to tackle the water and sanitation crisis.

In 2015, the world committed to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 as part of the 2030 Agenda – the promise that everyone would have safely managed water and sanitation by 2030.

Finland Happiest Country In World; India’s Rank 126 In World Happiness Report

Finland has been named the happiest country in the world in the annual World Happiness Report. This is the sixth consecutive year that they have won the coveted prize due to high scores in factors the report uses to measure happiness: GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity and low corruption.

Denmark is at number 2, and Iceland is 3rd.

ISRO to launch OneWeb India-2 mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota

The Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO will launch OneWeb India-2 mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on March 26.

Under a commercial agreement with NewSpace India Limited, ISRO will launch 72 satellites of the UK-based Network Access Associates Limited and place them in low Earth orbits.

ISSF World Cup Shooting Championship inaugurated at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh

The International Shooting Sports Federation- ISSF World Cup Shooting Championship was inaugurated in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

Around 200 shooters from 30 countries are participating in the World Shooting Championship.

This is the first ever Shooting World Cup to be held outside New Delhi in the country.

The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) committee to explore ways to bring home Indian start-ups

IFSCA has formed a committee to design a road-map to attract Indian start-ups to set up base in GIFT City and not have their domicile in other nations.

Germany’s World Cup-winning midfielder Mesut Ozil announced his retirement from football at the age of 34.

The former Real Madrid and Arsenal player was a key member of Germany’s World Cup-winning side in Brazil in 2014.

Ozil made 645 appearances for club and country, in which he scored 114 goals and had 222 assists.
