SIDBI Grade A Exam Pattern

SIDBI Grade A Exam Pattern – Objective Test
This test is objective in nature. Each subject has different number of questions and maximum marks. The timing for each section also remains different. For General Awareness (GA), the special reference will be to Banking and Financial Sector and Economic and

- Subjects: Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness.
- Total Questions: 200 Multiple Choice Questions.
- Exam Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes).
- Negative Marking: ¼th mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Qualifying Sections: English Language, Reasoning Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer Knowledge (qualifying in nature).

SIDBI Grade A Exam Pattern 2024 – Descriptive Test
Candidates will be required to answer by typing on the computer. The following is the exam pattern of the descriptive test which will be followed by the objective test. It is essential to attempt all three questions. The total duration of the descriptive test will be 60 minutes.
- Scoring Format: In Paper II, some questions carry different marks (either 1 or 2 marks).
- Answer Mode: For descriptive questions, answers must be typed using a keyboard.
- Bilingual Option: Objective questions are available in both Hindi and English.
- Indicative Syllabus: Topics provided are not exhaustive but give a broad outline of what to expect in the exam.

SIDBI Exam Pattern – Important Points

- Syllabus Scope: The syllabus is illustrative, not exhaustive; candidates should prepare broadly and stay updated on current developments and acts in their field.
- Language of Exam: All tests (except English Language & Descriptive Test) are available in both English and Hindi.
- Objective Test Format: Questions are multiple-choice with one correct answer; candidates must click the correct option.
- Negative Marking: 1/4th mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Scoring Method: Scores are adjusted for penalties and made equivalent across sessions to ensure fairness.
- Cutoff Criteria: Cutoffs are applied in two stages: individual test scores and total scores for qualification/merit.
- Sectional and Total Cutoffs: Cutoffs will be determined for each objective test, total objective test, and Descriptive Test.
- Descriptive Test: Candidates must type answers using the keyboard; ensure it functions properly before starting.
- Merit List Preparation: Merit lists are Grade/Stream-wise based on performance in each phase.
- Phase II Shortlisting: Minimum qualifying marks in each section and total score in Phase II are required to be shortlisted for the interview.
- Interview Details: Interview is worth 100 marks; 25% weightage for extracurricular achievements (proof required); candidates may opt for Hindi or English.
- Interview Shortlisting Ratio: The calling ratio for Phase II is 1:25, subject to reduction.
- Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of tied scores, higher Phase II marks, older age, or higher qualifications will be considered.
- Analysis of Responses: The Bank may analyze patterns to detect unfair practices, and candidature may be canceled if suspected.
- Exam Structure Modifications: SIDBI reserves the right to modify the exam structure, with updates provided on the official website.

Will SIDBI Grade A Exam have negative marking?
Yes, SIDBI Grade A exam will have negative marking. For every wrong answer marked, 1/4 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.
How are SIDBI Grade A Scores Calculated?

- The number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the corrected score after applying a penalty for wrong answers.
- The corrected scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the Equated Scores* (*Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms.)
- Test wise scores and scores on total are reported with decimal points up to two digits.
