Every year, the Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC GD Constable examination to recruit candidates aged between 18 to 23 years and who have passed Class 10 for the post of General Duty Constable and Rifleman in various Central Security Forces. SSC GD Constable Vacancy 2026

 

The Staff Selection Commission will release the vacancy details for the GD Constable Position separately for males and females. The recruitment will be done for forces such as BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, SSF, and NCB. The SSC GD Constable 2025 recruitment has seen a major update with the vacancies increased from 39,481 to 53,690, as announced by the Staff Selection Commission on April 21, 2025 for the previous cycle. This significant boost of over 14,000 additional posts enhances job opportunities across India's paramilitary forces, making it one of the largest SSC GD recruitment drives in recent years. The vacancies are distributed among forces like BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles (AR), SSF, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Of the total, 48,320 vacancies are for male candidates and 5,370 for female candidates, reflecting a push toward both massive recruitment and gender representation. Top recruiters include BSF (16,371), CISF (16,571), and CRPF (14,359), while others like AR, ITBP, and SSB also play key roles.   • Visit SSC Website: Go to the official SSC site and click "Apply."
  • Register: Click "Register Now" for new users and fill in details like Aadhaar, name, and date of birth.

  • Complete Registration: Set a password and finish the registration within 14 days.

2. Apply for SSC GD Constable Exam

The Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC GD Constable Notification 2026 on 11th November 2025 through the official SSC website. Candidates should familiarize themselves with the SSC GD Exam Pattern before applying online for the General Duty Constable posts. What Is the SSC GD Physical Test (PET/PST)?

 

The Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Detailed Medical Examination (DME), Review Medical Examination (RME), and Document Verification (DV) will be organized and conducted by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
