CAT 2019 Result is out on the official website https://iimcat.ac.in. Candidates who took the CAT Exam on 24th of November 2019, can check CAT 2019 Results and download their scorecards using the links given below. The candidate who needs to check CAT result 2019 just has to put in their User Id and password to download the scorecard.

CAT Result cum Scorecard – Details on it

Each candidate’s CAT scorecard will have the following details:

1. CAT 2019 registration number/user Id

2. Candidate’s name, category and gender

3. Date of birth

4. Date and time of examination

5. Candidate contact details and email id

6. CAT scaled score (overall)

7. CAT score (section-wise)

8. CAT percentile score (section-wise)

9. CAT percentile score (overall)

Note: The candidates must note that the CAT 2019 scorecards can be downloaded only from the official CAT website and will be available till December 31, 2020. 

Calculation of CAT Percentile

In CAT, three marks are awarded for each correct answer and one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. No marks are deducted for wrong answers in non-MCQ type questions.

It comprises of three steps: 

1. Each candidate is first scored section-wise and then the overall score is arrived at by totaling the section-wise scores.

2. Thereafter, these section-wise and overall scores (raw scores) are normalized to arrive at scaled CAT score.

3. The normalized scores are converted into percentiles which are reported on the CAT scorecard.

What after CAT 2019 Results?

As the results are declared, IIMs will now invite candidates for WAT-GD-PI rounds. The candidates who will meet the minimum cut off set for shortlisting for this round will be required to apply on the official website of the IIMs they selected in the CAT application form for admission. Thereafter, the institutes will shortlist candidates on the basis of their overall and sectional CAT percentile and academic record.

The admission process to the IIMs consists of three stagesGiven below is a brief description of the IIM admission process:

  1. Screening of Candidates on the basis of CAT score and academic history
  2. Written Ability Test / Group Discussion and Personal Interview (WAT/GD-PI) round
  3. Final selection of the Candidates for Admissions
