IBPS PO Notification 2025, Eligibility, Selection Process

The IBPS PO Exam is conducted annually by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to recruit Probationary Officers for various public sector banks across India. Since its inception in 2011, the IBPS PO exam has been a crucial selection process for banking aspirants. In 2025, IBPS will conduct the 15th edition of the exam under the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XV). The selection process consists of three stages: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. Successful candidates will be recruited for Probationary Officer positions in 11 participating public sector banks.

 

IBPS PO 2025 Exam Dates Announced


The IBPS PO Exam Calendar 2025 has confirmed the dates for the IBPS PO Exam Date Preliminary and Main exams. The IBPS PO Prelims will be held on 4th, 5th, and 11th October 2025, while the Main Exam is scheduled for 29th November 2025. Further details, including shift timings and exam centers, will be provided in the IBPS PO Admit Cards issued to registered candidates.

How to Fill IBPS PO Application Form 2025?


The process to submit the IBPS PO Application Form 2025 is simple once candidates understand the exact steps and required resources. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will announce the deadline for the IBPS PO Application Form 2025 along with the notification. IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025


To apply for IBPS PO 2025, candidates must meet the IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria set by IBPS. A graduate degree from a recognized university is required. Applicants must have a valid mark sheet or degree certificate and provide their graduation percentage during registration. Refer to the official IBPS PO Notification for complete details.

Educational QualificationCandidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India. Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Central Government are also accepted. Candidates must have a valid mark sheet or degree certificate at the time of registration and must indicate their graduation percentage while applying.
Computer LiteracyWorking knowledge of computer systems is required as the IBPS PO exam is conducted in online mode.
Nationality / CitizenshipCandidates must be: 
1. A Citizen of India 
2. A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan 
3. A Tibetan Refugee who migrated to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement 
4. A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries (Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi) with the intention of permanent settlement 
Note: Candidates from categories 2, 3, and 4 must have an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.
Age LimitCandidates must be at least 20 years old and not more than 30 years old at the time of registration. They must be born between 02.08.1994 and 01.08.2004 (both dates inclusive).

  2. You cannot change your exam center once selected.
  3. IBPS can cancel or add exam centers if needed.
  4. IBPS might assign you to a different center, possibly outside your chosen State/UT.
  5. You are responsible for your own safety and expenses while attending the exam; IBPS is not liable for any injuries or losses.
  6. Any bad behavior in the exam hall can lead to disqualification from this and future IBPS exams.

IBPS PO Selection Process
 

The IBPS PO exam is conducted annually through the Common Recruitment Process (CRP). In 2025, it is known as IBPS PO/MT CRP XV. The selection process consists of three stages—Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Candidates must clear each stage to proceed to the next.

  • Preliminary Exam – Shortlisting based on performance and cut off.
  • Mains Exam – Candidates must clear both sectional and overall cutoffs.
  • Interview – Conducted by participating banks and coordinated by IBPS.
  • Final Result – Based on Mains (80%) + Interview (20%) performance.

IBPS PO Salary


The starting IBPS PO In Hand Salary ranges between ₹52,000 to ₹55,000 per month, including dearness allowance, special allowances, and other benefits. The basic pay for a newly appointed PO is ₹36,000, as per the latest salary revision under the 11th Bipartite Settlement. The final salary structure may vary depending on the location of posting, perks, and deductions.

 

IBPS PO Admit Card 2025


Candidates must download the IBPS PO Admit Card 2025 from the official IBPS website, as no hard copies will be sent via post. To access the admit card, candidates need to log in using their Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth/Password. The admit card will be released 10 to 15 days before the exam and will be issued in three phases:

  • Online Preliminary Examination
  • Online Mains Examination
  • Interview

Candidates must ensure they download and print their admit card well in advance, as it is mandatory to carry it to the exam center along with a valid photo ID.


IBPS PO Result 2025


The IBPS PO Result 2025 will be announced after the completion of each phase of the examination. The final merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise, based on the combined scores of the Online Mains Examination and Interview. Candidates who secure a rank within the available vacancies in their respective categories will be considered for appointment, subject to medical fitness.

IBPS PO Pre-Exam Training


IBPS provides Pre-Exam Training for SC/ST/Religious Minority candidates as per government guidelines. It is a free orientation program conducted by participating banks to help candidates understand exam patterns, time management, common mistakes, and strategies. The training is usually five days long, and candidates must opt for it while filling out the online application.
