NICL Assistant Selection Process
The selection for NICL Assistant 2024 posts will occur in three stages. Two stages include an online test. We have also discussed the NICL Assistant Syllabus 2024 in the article below.
- Phase I: Preliminary Examination
- Phase II: Mains Examination
- Regional Language Test
The Preliminary Exam is scheduled for 30th November 2024 for which the NICL Assistant Admit Card 2024 has been released on 21st November 2024, and the Mains Exam will take place on 28th December 2024. Following these exams, candidates must pass the Regional Language Test to be considered for final selection.
NICL Assistant Exam Pattern 2024
The NICL Assistant Exam Pattern 2024 consists of two main stages: Phase I (Preliminary) and Phase II (Main) exams, followed by a Regional Language Test.
- A penalty of 0.25 marks will be applied for each incorrect answer in both the Prelims and Mains exams.
- The final merit list will be based on the scores from the Mains Examination, provided the candidate successfully clears the Regional Language Test.
NICL Assistant Phase I Prelims Exam Pattern
The Prelims exam is the first stage and will consist of 100 questions, each worth 1 mark. The exam lasts 60 minutes and covers three sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude. The Prelims is a qualifying stage, and its marks will not count towards the final merit list. However, there will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

NICL Assistant Phase II Mains Exam Pattern
The Mains exam will have 200 questions for a total of 200 marks. The duration is 120 minutes, and the exam consists of five sections: Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. The marks scored in this exam will be included in the final merit list.
