Common Mistakes to Avoid for RBI Grade B Exam

If you are planning to appear for RBI Grade B 2025, here are few Common Mistakes to Avoid for RBI Grade B Exam that you should definitely avoid:

  1. Ignoring the Syllabus & Exam Pattern: Many aspirants dive straight into preparation without first understanding the syllabus and exam structure. This leads to wasted time on less important topics. Always start by knowing what exactly to study.
  2. Overlooking General Awareness in Phase I: Candidates often spend most of their time on Quant, Reasoning, and English, but forget that General Awareness carries the maximum weightage in Phase I.
  3. Not Practicing Enough Mock Tests: Studying theory is not enough. Without practicing mock tests and previous year papers, it's hard to judge your speed, accuracy, and time management during the actual exam.
  4. Neglecting Descriptive Answer Writing: Phase II requires strong writing skills in Economics & Social Issues (ESI) and Finance & Management (FM). Many aspirants skip descriptive practice and struggle to express their knowledge effectively in the exam.
  5. Starting Preparation Too Late: RBI Grade B is one of the toughest banking exams in India. Waiting until the notification is out means you'll have very little time to cover the vast syllabus. Starting early gives you an edge over others.
