RBI Grade B Eligibility must be known to every aspirant. Candidates who aspire to apply for the RBI Grade B 2024 examination should ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the notification. Every year, the eligibility remains almost same. The RBI Grade B minimum age limit for the RBI Grade B candidates is 21 years as on the reference date. RBI Grade B Eligibility 2024

The candidates will have to satisfy the RBI Grade B Eligibility based on various parameters. Some of the parameters are mentioned below:

  • Educational Qualification
  • Age Limit
  • Nationality
  • No. of Attempts

All the aspirants must make a note that if they fail to meet any of the RBI Grade B Eligibility criteria then they can be rejected at any stage of the selection process. This means that even after clearing the exam, if found that the aspirant doesn’t meet eligibility, then he/she will not be entitled to get the RBI Grade B Posting.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification is one of the most important parameters of RBI Grade B Eligibility. The minimum educational qualifications required for the RBI Grade B 2024 examination are as follows:

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General)Graduation in any discipline /equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or Post Graduation in any discipline / equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in the aggregate of all semesters/years.
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPRa. A Master’s Degree in Economics (or any other master’s degree where
“Economics” is the principal constituent* of the curriculum/syllabus, namely MA / MSc in Quantitative Economics, Mathematical Economics, Financial Economics, Business Economics, Agricultural Economics, and Industrial Economics) OR
b. A Master’s Degree in Finance (or any other master’s degree where “Finance” is the principal constituent* of the curriculum/syllabus, namely MA / MSc in Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Techniques, International Finance, Business Finance, Banking and Trade Finance, International and Trade Finance, Project and Infrastructure Finance, Agri Business Finance).

For a) and b) above, a minimum of 55 percent marks or an equivalent grade is required in aggregate of all semesters/years from a recognized Indian or foreign University / Institute.
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIMEssential:
a. A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical
Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Applied Statistics &
Informatics with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR
b. Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an
equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and one year post
graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR
c. Master’s degree course in Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine
Learning/ Big Data Analytics, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent
grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years from a recognized University/
Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved
programme; OR
d. Four-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years in Data Science/ AI/ ML/ Big Data Analytics from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme; OR
e. Two years Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) with a
minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all
semesters/years from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for General

The RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for General is Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s Degree. The graduation/ bachelor’s/ post graduation/ master’s can be in any discipline. Check out the table given below to know the minimum percentage required in graduation/ post graduation for RBI Grade B.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DEPR

The RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DEPR is Master’s degree in Economics/ Finance or any equivalent stream. The minimum requirement of marks for the candidates in master’s degree is 55%.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DSIM

The RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DSIM is Master’s degree in Mathematics/ Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics/ Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Applied Statistics & Informatics. Apart from these, the candidate can also have 2 years Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) or 4 years bachelor degree in relevant discipline.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification – CGPA to Percentage Conversion

Some institutes/ universities grant CGPAs, so for those who define the criteria for conversion of CGPA to percentage, the same will be accepted. For those who have not defined the criteria can follow the below mentioned criteria:

RBI Grade B Age Limit

The RBI Grade B Age Limit must be between 21 and 30 years. There will be a reference date for the calculation of the age limit which will be notified along with the RBI Grade B Notification 2024. The reference date will be updated here as and when out. Certain age relaxations are provided to candidates belonging to specific categories. RBI Grade B Age Limit for SC

The RBI Grade B Age Limit for SC is 35 years as 5 years age relaxation is given to SC (Schedule Caste) candidates.

RBI Grade B Age Limit for ST

The RBI Grade B Age Limit for ST is 35 years as 5 years age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to the ST (Schedule Tribe) category.

RBI Grade B Age Limit for PWD

The RBI Grade B Age Limit for PWD is 40 years for General category candidates, 43 years for OBC and 45 years for SC/ST.

RBI Grade B Age Limit for Ex Servicemen

The RBI Grade B Age Limit for Ex Servicemen is 35 years. This is including military services.

RBI Grade B Age Limit for Bank Employees

RBI Grade B Age Limit for Bank Employees is 35 years. Please note that this is for the ex bank employees.

RBI Grade B Age Limit for M. Phil Students

RBI Grade B Age Limit for M. Phil Students is 32 years.

RBI Grade B Age Limit for Phd Students

RBI Grade B Age Limit for Phd Students is 34 years.

RBI Grade B Experience Required

It is expected that there will be no requirement of experience for the RBI Grade B 2024 examination. So, even if you are a fresher and satisfy all other RBI Grade B Eligibility, you can apply.

RBI Grade B Eligibility 2024 – Nationality

To fulfill the nationality needs, candidates must be either of the following:

  1. A citizen of India
  2. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  3. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  4. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

RBI Grade B Number of Attempts

The maximum RBI Grade B number of attempts is six for candidates belonging to the General category. However, for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories, there is no limit on the number of attempts.
