Australia beats India to win Cricket World Cup for sixth time

Australia beat India by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to lift the 2023 ODI World Cup trophy. The Aussies won a record-extending sixth title, after having won the 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015 editions.

Australia claimed a substantial prize purse of USD 4 million (approximately ₹33 crore), and runner-up India earned USD 2 million (around ₹16 crore.

India likely to become second largest solar module manufacturer by 2025: Wood Mackenzie report

India, which accounts for 3 per cent of the global solar manufacturing market, is expected to become the world’s second largest module manufacturing region by 2025, Wood Mackenzie said in its latest report.

The US and India have announced more than 200 gigawatts (GW) of planned module capacity since 2022.

Bihar Governor approves Bill raising reservation from 50% to 65%

Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar approved the State Government’s ‘Bihar Reservation Amendment Bill’ which was passed unanimously by the State Legislature during the recently concluded winter session.

RBI fines Pudukkottai Co-operative Town Bank for non-compliance of guidelines

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a penalty of ₹25,000 on Pudukkottai Co-operative Town Bank Ltd for non compliance of directions issued on ‘Board of Directors - UCBs’.

This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47A (1) (c) read with Sections 46 (4) (i) and 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (AACS).
