Haryana Judicial Services Exam Vacancy - Complete Details

The number of vacancies available in a competitive exam helps the candidates in preparing accordingly for the exam. Also, it helps in fine-tuning the strategies that are adopted for clearing the exam. This section deals with the number of Haryana Civil Judge vacancies.

Haryana Judicial Services Exam Pattern

The High Court of Haryana decides on the recruitment process. Three steps are selected on the finalised Haryana Judgment Exam Pattern: Prelims, Mains, Viva-voce/Interview.

Patterns for Prelims Exam

  • There are 125 questions of multiple choice for 500 marks in the preliminary exam of the HCS Judicial Branch. The test will take 2 hours.
  • The question paper standard is the degree of a law student. I.e. the standard BCI-approved LLB program in India. LLB standard programme.

To be selected in the following step of the selection process, you have to score more than 40%.

  • Unless a minimum of 150 (100 marks for all category candidates reserved) marks was obtained during the preliminary examination, no applicant may be permitted to appear in the main examination.
  • In the final result, the marks acquired on the preliminary test are not counted.
  • Candidates who have been selected in the appropriate categories for their merit equal to 10 times the number of vacancies announced shall be eligible for the principal examination. The number is susceptible to change, however.

Haryana Civil Judge Exam Pattern for Mains Exam

Questions from five disciplines – civil law I, civil law II, criminal law III, English, linguistics – are asked in the Mains exam (Hindi in Devanagari Script).

If you belong to the general category, 50% marks must be obtained in the main examination to be awarded a shortlist. The qualification marks are 45% for the reserved category.

Haryana Civil Judge Syllabus

Haryana Civil Judge is conducted in 2 phases(Excluding viva-voce) and each tier of the exam has a different syllabus. Let's take a look at the detailed syllabus.

The preliminary examination will be objective type questions based. The objective-type questions will be from the same syllabus mentioned for the mains exam. There will be 125 questions and each question will carry 4 marks with a negative marking of 0.80 for every wrong answer. Questions will be framed from India's legal system, the history of the Indian Constitution and governance, and current events of national and international concerns. Questions to test the candidate's reasoning power, aptitude, and analytical ability will also be included. The level of the Preliminary questions paper is at par with the graduate level Law examination.  In order to clear the preliminary examination, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 150 marks out of a total of 500 marks.

After the interview is completed, HCS is preparing the final merit list of HCS Judicial Branch 2020. The upload is expected within 10 to 15 days of the interview date.
