Ajay and Vijay scheduled their meeting on Friday in a cafe. They both took different routes to reach the cafe.
From point A, Ajay moved 17 m towards the north-east to reach point B.

He then turned 8 m towards the south to reach point C. Point C is situated towards the west of the cafe. Point A lies to the west of C.

From point P, Vijay walked 17 m in the north-west direction to reach point Q. By walking 16 m towards the south from point Q, he reached point R.

Point S is 5 m to the west of point R. From point S, he again walked 8 m towards the north to reach the cafe.

The distance between points C and P is 30 m. Point P is situated towards the east of the cafe.
Let horizontal distance between P and Q be x m.
So, the distance between cafe and point P is (x+5) m.
By using Pythagoras theorem, 82 + x2 = 172
x = 15.
And the distance between C and cafe = 30 m  -  (x + 5) m = 10 m.

Distance between A and C = √(172  -  82) = 15 m. So, distance between the cafe and point A = 15 + 10 = 25 m
Point B is to the west of point Q.
Point R is in the south-east direction with respect to the cafe.
