• Step 1: First two and last two alphabets are reversed and placed at the end and the beginning respectively.

• Step 2: In words with odd number of alphabets --- consonants are replaced with preceding alphabets and vowels are replaced with succeeding alphabets.

• Step 3: The consonants are replaced by the numeric value of each of them. For A-Z the values are from 1-26 in the increasing order. Again 1 and 0 are added and finally we get 1 which is a single digit number.
