Let the total number of students who appeared for IBPS PO preliminary exam be 'A' and the total number of students who cleared IBPS PO preliminary exam be 'C'.

The ratio of the number of students who appeared for IBPS PO preliminary exam from Tamil Nadu to the number of students who cleared IBPS PO preliminary exam from Tamil Nadu

= (14 % x A)/ (16% x C) = 56/3

A/C = 64/3.

The ratio of the number of students who appeared for IBPS PO preliminary exam from Kerala to the number of students who cleared IBPS PO preliminary exam from Kerala

= ((8% x A)/ (18% x C)) = (4/9) x (A/C) = (4/9) x (64/3)

= (256/27).
