'Lambasts' (criticize (someone or something) harshly) is a verb. Since we cannot use a verb in place of a noun, we can eliminate option (b). The phrase 'one of' takes plural nouns only. According to this, options, (a) and (d) are eliminated. 'Nasty' (very bad or unpleasant) is an adjective and 'onslaughts' (a fierce or destructive attack) is a plural noun. Option (c) is the one that fits correctly in the sentence as it follows all the grammatical conditions mentioned above and brings out a meaningful sentence. Hence, option (c) is the correct answer.
