The sentences in (II) can be combined without changing the meaning i.e., while we were at a movie, our house was burgled. Here, 'while' has been used with the meaning 'during the time that; at the same time as'.
The sentences in (III) cannot be combined without changing the meaning.
Hence, option (d) is the answer.
