RBI Grade B Exam Pattern
RBI Grade B Scheme of Selection
The scheme of selection for the RBI Grade B officers comprises three stages given below:
- Phase 1 (Prelims)
- Phase 2 (Mains)
- Phase 3 (Interview)
RBI Grade B Phase 1 Exam Pattern (Prelims)
The RBI Grade B Prelims exam consists of 4 sections: Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. Please note that for every wrong answer, 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted. The detailed exam pattern in a tabular format is presented below:

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern
The RBI Grade B Mains exam consists of three papers: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper 1 and 3 are a combination of both objective and descriptive questions, while Paper 2 is completely descriptive in nature. The detailed format is presented below in a tabular format.

Note: In the case of Descriptive questions, 6 questions will be asked, of which candidates will be required to attempt 4 questions (2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each). In case, the candidate answers more than 4 questions in descriptive, the first 4 shall be evaluated.
RBI Grade B Interview
- Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on the aggregate of marks obtained in Phase 2 (Paper 1 +Paper 2 + Paper 3).
- The minimum aggregate cut-off marks for being shortlisted for an interview will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies.
- Roll No. of the candidates shortlisted for interview will be published on the RBI website at an appropriate time and interview call letters will be sent to the registered email ID.
- The interview will carry 75 marks.
- The candidate shall be required to undergo Psychometric Test conducted by the Bank before appearing for the Interview.
- No marks will be allotted for the same and this will not form part of the final selection criteria.
- Candidates may opt for an interview either in Hindi or English.
Final Selection will be through a merit list which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in the Phase-II examination and interview and grace marks as applicable as per extant rules.

"Phase-I: Oliveboard's mock tests and sectional tests helped me sail through Phase-I with whatever limited time I had. The quality of the questions was quite good and they prepared me very well for the actual exam. Oliveboard's bolt magazine, although quite a lengthy magazine by itself, is brilliant for selective reading with limited factual errors. Phase II: Oliveboard's notes were concise and to the point for the most part. These notes helped me stay within the scope of the exam and are more than enough for finance and management preparation. ESI static syllabus is covered very extensively in Oliveboard's notes which provided me with a solid base for extra reading and provided sufficient material for phase 2 descriptive answers. Interview: The Mock Interview Session with Oliveboard's Mock Interview panellists Raja Sir and Gopal Sir was very insightful.
