RRB Technician Eligibility Criteria 2024
The eligibility criteria are generally released along with the notification RRB will also release the detailed post-wise criteria along with the notification. Till then, candidates can check the detailed eligibility criteria mentioned below as per the previous notification.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age Limit – 18 years
- Maximum Age Limit – 30 to 33 years (Post-wise)

*To help candidates affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the railway recruitment authorities have decided to offer a one-time age relaxation of 3 years beyond the usual upper age limit for the Technician posts. This decision aims to assist individuals who may have exceeded the age limit during this challenging time, enabling them to still participate in the recruitment process.
The age limits vary for different categories such as UR & EWS, OBC (NCL), SC & ST, and for all candidates. These limits determine the range of acceptable birth dates for eligibility in the Railway Technician Recruitment process.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a matriculation, SSLC, or ITI from a registered NCVT/SCVT institution in the relevant trade. Alternatively, they can have completed an Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade.
- Candidates must possess the specified Educational/Technical qualifications from a recognized Institute or University as per the CEN.
- Qualifications must be obtained before the deadline for online application submission, set for 8th April 2024.
- Candidates awaiting final examination results should refrain from applying.
- A Diploma/Degree in Engineering cannot substitute for Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) or ITI for Technician positions in Pay Level-2, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Similarly, Graduate Act apprenticeship will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).
Nationality
Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for RRB Technician positions. Candidates must provide proof of their Indian citizenship during the application process, and only those who fulfill this requirement are considered for the recruitment process in the Indian Railways.
