The SSC CPO Notification 2026 is released on 10 September 2026 for 1,871 tentative vacancies for Sub-Inspector posts in Delhi Police, CAPFs and the newly added SI (Fire) in CISF. What is SSC CPO Paper 1 Exam Pattern?

 

The SSC CPO Exam Pattern has been revised significantly for 2026. Instead of the earlier 200-question paper, candidates now have to attempt 100 questions for 100 marks in 1 hour.

What is SSC CPO Paper 2 Exam Pattern?

 

Paper 2 has also been completely restructured. It is no longer an English-only paper. It now includes Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.

The first three sections are conducted within 1 hour with 20 minutes for each section, while English has a separate 1-hour duration. Negative marking is 0.50 mark for each wrong answer in Paper 2. SSC has also specified that Paper 2 will be of a higher difficulty level than Paper 1.

What are the Exam Day Guidelines for SSC CPO Exam?

 

Candidates should reach the examination centre within the reporting time mentioned on their Admission Certificate and carry all required documents for verification.

  • Reach on Time: Report at the examination centre as per the timing mentioned on the Admission Certificate.
  • Carry Admission Certificate: Keep a printed copy of the SSC CPO Admission Certificate.
  • Carry Valid Photo ID: Bring the prescribed original photo identity proof.
  • Follow Centre Instructions: Follow all security, biometric verification and seating instructions issued by SSC.
  • Aadhaar Authentication: Candidates who have not undergone Aadhaar-based authentication may be required to report earlier and carry additional photographs/documents.

 

What is the List of Prohibited Items in SSC CPO Exam?

 

Candidates should not carry unauthorized electronic devices or other restricted items inside the examination centre.

  • Calculators or unauthorised electronic stationery
  • Cameras or recording devices

What is the dress code to be followed in SSC CPO Exam 2026?

 

Candidates can wear half-sleeve T-shirts/shirts, trousers/jeans, slippers/sandals, prescribed spectacles, leggings/churidar, salwar/kurta, or saree. Avoid full sleeves, shoes/boots, jewelry, watches, sunglasses, big hair accessories, burka, caps, or garments with big buttons/badges.
