SSC CPO Physical Test – Important Points
The SSC CPO Physical standards include specific criteria for height, chest measurements, and relaxations for certain candidates. Additionally, there are guidelines for appeals and the nature of qualifying tests. Below are the key details candidates should be aware of:
- No Minimum Chest Requirement for Female Candidates: Female candidates do not need to meet a minimum chest measurement.
- Height and Chest Relaxation: Relaxations in height and chest measurements are granted with a certificate from district authorities, as detailed in Annexure IX.
- Validity of Relaxation: Once granted, the height and chest relaxation remains valid for the duration of employment with Delhi Police.
- Appeal Process: Candidates who do not meet the physical standards can appeal to the appellate authority. The appellate authority’s decision is final and no further appeals will be considered.
- Qualifying Nature of PST/PET: The PST and PET are qualifying tests and do not affect the final score.
- Ex-Servicemen: Ex-Servicemen are exempt from the PET but must pass the written test and meet the physical and medical standards required for direct recruits.
3. SSC CPO Exam Pattern – Medical standard (For all posts)
Candidates who pass Paper-II of the SSC CPO exam must undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the health and fitness standards required for the role. This examination is crucial as it assesses various aspects of physical and visual health to determine suitability for the position.
- Medical Examination: Candidates who pass Paper-II will undergo a medical check-up by a Medical Officer from the CAPFs or any Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon of Grade I at a Central or State Government Hospital or Dispensary. If a candidate is deemed unfit, they will be notified and can appeal to the Review Medical Board within 15 days. The Review Medical Board’s decision is final, and no additional appeals will be considered.
- Eyesight Requirements: Candidates must meet the following vision standards:

Finally selected candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector would, as part of training curriculum, have to pass seven obstacle events as mentioned below, failing which they may not be retained in the Force:

- Holding the rope on jumping from the Board.
- Tarzan Swing.
- Jumping on the Horizontal Board.
- Parallel Rope.
- Monkey Crawl
