The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC GD Constable Examination every year to recruit candidates for the post of Constable in various Central Security Forces. For the previous cycle, the SSC GD Constable CBT examination was held on 4th and 5th February 2025, and the result for the same is expected to be released in April 2025. Candidates who will clear the SSC GD CBT exam will further appear for the SSC GD Constable Physical Test, including the PET and PST, conducted by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Also, SSC has released the official calendar on it website ssc.gov.in wherein the SSC GD Constable Notification 2025-2026 for the upcoming cycle is expected to be released on 11th November, 2025.
SSC GD Exam Pattern 2025
The Selection Process of the SSC GD Recruitment 2025 consists of three main stages i.e. Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test, and Medical Test.
- Written Examination: Covers General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi.
- Result Declaration: Results on the SSC website; qualified candidates move to PET/PST.
- Physical Test: The Physical Test includes two further tests- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Assesses running ability and Physical Standards Test (PST): Measures height and chest.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the SSC GD Physical Test which is comprised of the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) based on their performance in the Computer-Based Examination (CBE).

The SSC GD Constable PET and PST are physical tests for candidates after passing the written exam. These tests assess physical fitness through running, height, weight, and chest measurements (for males).
