SSC JHT Nationality
The SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria also include the nationality of the candidates. The details regarding candidates’ citizenship are as follows.
A candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
- (a) A citizen of India.
- (b) A citizen of Nepal.
- (c) A citizen of Bhutan.
- (d) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.
Candidates falling under categories (b), (c), and (d) above must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
SSC JHT Educational Qualification
The details of the SSC JHT educational qualifications for various posts are provided below. As per last year’s SSC JHT notification, candidates must have completed the required educational qualification by 25th August 2024.
For Post Codes ‘A’ to ‘C’ (Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator)
Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree from a recognized university in:
- Hindi, with English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- English, with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- Any other subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- Any other subject with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- Any other subject, with Hindi & English as compulsory/elective subjects, OR one as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/elective subject at the degree level.
Additional Requirement:
- A recognized Diploma/Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, OR
- Two years of translation experience from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central/State Government Office, including Government of India Undertakings.
For Post Code ‘D’ (Senior Hindi Translator, Senior Translator)
Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree from a recognized university in:
- Hindi, with English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- English, with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- Any other subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- Any other subject with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
- Any other subject, with Hindi & English as compulsory/elective subjects, OR one as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/elective subject at the degree level.
Additional Requirement:

SSC JHT Age Limit
The SSC JHT Age Limit has been set by the Staff Selection Commission where candidates aged between 18 and 30 years as of 1st August 2024 (as per last year’s Notification). This means applicants must have been born on or after 2nd August 1994, and on or before 1st August 2006.

- Enter Details – Fill in the UID Aadhaar number, name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth twice. Discrepancies will be marked in red.
- Verify Mobile and Email – Verify using OTP sent to your mobile and email.
- Save Registration – Click “Save Next.” Your Registration Number will be shown and sent to you via mobile and email. Complete within 14 days.
- Complete Registration – Click “Continue” to go to the login page.
- Finish Later – Click “Login or Register” to finish later. Use the Registration Number and password to log in and create a new password.
- Create a New Password – Set a new password during the first login.
- Provide Additional Details – Enter Category, Nationality, and addresses. Non-Indian citizens should provide contact details.
- Enter Identification and Disability Details – Provide identification marks and any disability details, including Disability Certification Number if applicable.
- Submit Declaration – Read and agree to the declaration, then click “Declare.”
- Fill Application Form – Log in with the new Registration Number and password to complete the SSC JHT Application Form 2025.

SSC JHT Guidelines To Upload Photographs and Signature
Before proceeding with the SSC JHT Online Application, candidates must ensure they have the following data ready. Follow these guidelines to capture a suitable photograph and prepare other required documents to avoid any issues during the SSC JHT Application Process.
SSC JHT Photograph Instructions:
- Finding a Good Spot: Select a place with good lighting and a plain background.
- Camera Positioning: Ensure the camera is at eye level before taking the photo.
- Positioning Yourself: Stand or sit directly in front of the camera, looking straight ahead.
- Face Alignment: Make sure your face is fully within the red rectangular area on the screen. Your face should not be too close or too far, and it should completely fill the rectangle without any part outside the boundaries.
- Appearance: Do not wear a cap, mask, or glasses/spectacles while capturing the photo.
If you are unable to capture your photo using a camera, use the QR code provided. The photo should be taken without a cap, without spectacles, and with a frontal view of the face.
Note: Applications with photographs that do not comply with these instructions may be rejected.

SSC JHT Application Fees 2025
The Staff Selection Commission allows fee exemption and Age Relaxation for ex-servicemen, Physically Handicapped Candidates. The application fees can be paid in both online and offline modes.
