UGC NET Exam Date 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET Exam Date 2024 for the June session of UGC NET 2024. The exam will be held between 21st August and 4th September 2024 in two shifts. Although the exam was canceled earlier and the new date has been released by the NTA.
The UGC NET June 2024 Cycle examination was earlier held in Pen & paper (offline) mode. However, it will now be held in the Computer-Based Test ( CBT) mode.
The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is conducted to fill vacancies for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor in various Indian Universities. The UGC NET exam 2024 is scheduled between 21st August and 4th September 2024 and UGC NET Admit Card 2024 will be released 3 days before the exam on its official website at https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/. UGC NET Exam Timings 2024
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC – NET June 2024 Examination in Computer Based Test (CBT), mode for 83 subjects at different cities across the country between 21st August to 04th September 2024.

UGC NET Exam Date 2024 – Selection Criteria For Lectureship
THE UGC NET 2024 examination will be held between the 21st August and 4th September 2024. The UGC NET 2024 Examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. Only 6% of candidates who appeared will qualify for the examination and become eligible for the post of Assistant Professor. A category-wise reservation policy will be applied for these qualified candidates.
The UGC NET Exam 2024 will take place in multiple shifts. As a result, we have raw marks received by applicants in various shifts/sessions, which will be transformed into NTA Score (percentile). The NTA Score will be generated based on the raw marks achieved by an applicant.
The subject-wise merit list and UGC NET qualifying criteria for Lectureship as per category are prepared on the basis of the following:
Number. of Qualified Candidates (General Category) for Lectureship in English Subject | The number of candidates (General category) who secure a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in papers 1 &and paper 2 taken for ‘English’ multiplied by the total number of slots available for the General category, divided by the total number of candidates (General category) overall subjects who secure at least 40% aggregate marks in both papers combined. |
UGC NET Exam Date 2024 – Selection Criteria 2024 For JRF
For the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) only 1% of the appeared candidates will be eligible for the certificate. The formula to select the qualified candidates for JRF is:
Number. of Qualified Candidates (General Category) for Lectureship in English Subject | The number of candidates (General category) who opted for JRF and have qualified for assistant professor in English subject multiplied by the total number of slots available for JRF (General category), divided by the total number of candidates (General category) overall subjects who opted for JRF and qualified for Assistant Professor. |
