To avoid any inconvenience at the time of UGC NET registrations, candidates should keep the following documents ready beforehand.

- Ration card/ Passport number/ Aadhaar Card/ Voter ID or other Government ID

How to Fill the UGC NET December 2024 Application Form?
Step 1: Fill UGC NET 2024 Registration Form

- Download the information brochure
- Click on “Click here to proceed”
- The UGC NET registration form will be displayed on the screen.

Once all details are filled in, click on the Submit button. The candidates must review the information given on the page and click on the Final Submit button to proceed with the process. Step 3: Upload Signature And Image
The format of the scanned images and the signature should be JPEG. The candidates must upload their scanned photo and signature for UGC NET 2024 as per the specifications given below:

- Submission Method: The UGC NET 2024 application form must be submitted exclusively online through the official website. Applications via any other method will not be accepted.
- Single Submission: Candidates are allowed to submit only one application form; duplicate submissions will not be entertained.
- Email & Mobile Number: Ensure the correct entry of your Email ID and mobile number, as all important updates will be sent via Email or SMS by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- Multiple Steps: Both registration, form filling, photo & signature upload, and fee payment can be completed simultaneously or separately at different times.
- Document Upload: Only the scanned copies of the photo and signature need to be uploaded; no other documents are required.
- Fee Payment Confirmation: If the confirmation page does not appear after the payment, it indicates a failed transaction. In this case, the deducted amount will be refunded, and the fee payment should be attempted again.
- Confirmation Page: Print a copy of the confirmation page for future reference, as it may be required later.
- No Postal Submissions: The entire application process for UGC NET 2024 is online, so no physical documents need to be sent through post, fax, or email.

UGC NET Selection Criteria 2024 For Lectureship
Only 6 percent of candidates who appeared will qualify for the examination and become eligible for the post of Assistant Professor. A category-wise reservation policy will be applied for these qualified candidates.

UGC NET 2024 Educational Qualification
Before applying for the UGC NET 2024 exam, interested candidates must read the UGC NET December Notification 2024 pdf and ensure they satisfy the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2024. The UGC NET 2024 Eligibility Criteria in terms of education qualification are mentioned here.
- For OBC-NC, SC, ST, PwD, and transgender candidates: A minimum of 50% marks is required to be eligible for UGC NET 2024
- For Master’s degree candidates: Even if you are awaiting results or your qualifying exams have been delayed, you can still apply for UGC NET 2024. However, you will be admitted provisionally, and only after passing your Master’s with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) will you be considered for JRF or Assistant Professor roles
- For PhD holders: If your Master’s examination was completed before 19th September 1991, you are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the aggregate marks requirement for UGC NET 2024
- For transgender candidates: They will receive relaxations in fee, age, and qualifying criteria (i.e., JRF and Assistant Professor) similar to those for SC, ST, and PwD categories. Furthermore, the subject-wise cut-off marks will be the lowest for transgender candidates.

UGC NET 2024 Age Limit And Upper Age Limit Relaxation
UGC NET JRF 2024 Age Limiy
- Age Limit for UGC NET JRF 2024: The maximum age for candidates applying for UGC NET JRF 2024 is 30 years.
- Relaxation for Reserved Categories: However, candidates from OBC-NC, SC, ST, PwD, transgender, and women applicants are eligible for a 5-year age relaxation.
- Research Experience: Additionally, candidates with research experience may receive an age relaxation equivalent to the period spent on research in the respective subject or Post Graduate Degree, up to 5 years.
- L.L.M. Degree Holders: Moreover, candidates with an L.L.M. degree can benefit from a 3-year relaxation in age.
- Armed Forces Service: Similarly, candidates who have served in the armed forces are entitled to an age relaxation of up to 5 years, depending on their length of service.
- Total Relaxation Limit: In any case, the total age relaxation, including all the above-mentioned grounds, cannot exceed 5 years under any circumstances.
UGC NET 2024 Assistant Professor Age Limit:
- There is no upper age limit to apply for Assistant Professor.

- Those holding a post-graduate diploma/ certificate from an Indian university or a degree/ diploma/ certificate from a foreign university must determine if their diploma/ degree/ certificate is equivalent to a master’s degree from a recognized Indian university.
- The equivalence must be determined by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
